Zachary M. Oliver has spent his career as a celebration of learning. The many years of classroom experience he has had as an instructor have seasoned him to see his role as a co-conspirator, a co-creator of the moment. If we truly believe in student-centric learning environments, then we are always challenged to shape the moment lightly and participate in it fully. It has been this philosophy that has electrified his interactions with the students and faculty he has mentored along the way. His book, Falling but Fulfilled, is a meditation on Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences and Jack Mezirow’s Transformative Learning Theory, subjects which he continually finds inspiring and which brought him into discussion with Brent Cameron, his Theory of Natural Learning, and the SelfDesign community.

Zach is currently the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chair, College of Undergraduate Studies at Argosy University/Hawaii. He is also a partner/owner and CEO of Aignos Publishing. He is “committed to connecting people, environments, and ideas which contribute to growth of consciousness.”

Falling but Fulfilled.

Education reform has become one of the most hotly contested topics in America today. Rather than focus on test scores, federal or private funds, or political conflicts, Dr. Zachary Oliver has fashioned a unique memoir that takes a powerful learning theory, Multiple Intelligences (MI) Theory, and demonstrates, through the story of his life, from his childhood to his years as an educator, the ways in which education touches nearly every activity of our lives. In Falling but Fulfilled, Dr. Oliver demonstrates how learning is an integral part of life, not just a statistic or test score, that is felt and obtained through reflection on the vast array of experiences that constitute our lives.
