is a unique learning community committed to the integrity and capacity of each person to design their own learning—and life. This resonates in all areas of our Master’s Degree program.
We hold these commitments deeply because we believe that the more human beings can discover and enact their own life designs and purposes, the more they will be able to contribute to the creation of a peaceful, sustainable global society on this planet.
This program a low-residency, distance education program. It includes six (6) day residencies in Washington State in fall in two subsequent years and online courses and directed studies.
In all of our courses and directed studies, learners and faculty mentors meet online in real time for conversations.
Engage in an educational experience that is personal, relational, challenging, and deeply meaningful.
Choose an M.A. program that allows you to explore who you are called to become and what contribution you can make.
Integrate in-person distance learning with learning in short-term residencies. Online, we converse in person in real time.
Transformative Learning Foundation Chair, Renee Poindexter, interviews our graduates to discuss designing their own master’s program, and how they have integrated their learning into their professional lives.
Little did I know what would unfold back in 2008, when I introduced visionary educator, Brent Cameron, to holistic education scholar and teacher, David Marshak at a small education conference I was hosting on Orcas Island, WA.
That day, Brent and David began a collaboration that gave rise to this amazing model for postgraduate education, a privilege it is now to have accepted the reins from David and to complete the circle as I settle into the office of GIFT Learning President.
The caring and self-renewing community a unique and innovative approach to learning. Here is a place where you will be welcomed and gently guided to claim authorship of your own life’s journey. I am so very proud of this organization, its inspiring faculty, and all we are doing to offer personalized, relationship-based learning opportunities.
You may find other MA programs that pay lip service to the idea of pursuing your passions, but at the Graduate Institute for Transformative Learning (GIFT Learning) we live this mandate every day. It is the very heart which pulses life throughout our programs.
GIFT Learning operates under the oversight of the Transformative Learning Foundation. We continue to enjoy a strong relationship with SDLF, Brent’s original K-12 organization in BC, Canada.
